In the stage directions for this scene Sarah Ruhl describes Euridice and Orpheus as being "a little too in love" and that seemed like the perfect way to describe a certain kind of love that we all eventually (hopefully) learn to grow beyond but that we all sort of miss being naive enough to feel.
I see this track as a spiritual companion to "Tender Moments" off of Absence. In that one I tried to sincerely imagine what a love poem would be like from a computer and figured that it would probably be something like what a child might think an adult would feel - all while not having the brain chemistry yet to understand any complexity. This is more like a middle schooler - less dumb, more desperate, but ultimately hopeful in a way that most adults I know have decided to stop being. And probably for good reason.
